After something of a break, the Uniqlo budget Harrington jacket is now back on the shelves and still offering great value.
This didn’t make it into my 10 of the best classic Harrington Jackets round-up. But that’s only because the jacket wasn’t available at the time. Next time I update it the Uniqlo design will definitely be one to consider for a couple of reasons, which I’ll go into now.
First off, the budget price tag, which is always a bonus. Secondly, the quality. Uniqlo always does decent clobber for a reasonable price and if the past is anything to go by, this Harrington will be a pretty decent bit of kit. Not that this is the same jacket as last time out. Its Harrington design always changes year on year.
But the design is still a selling point this time out. Take your pick from three colours, each one with a cotton gabardine construction and some classic ‘Harrington’ details.
It doesn’t quite go down the Baracuta copy route, but at the end of the day this is a Harrington and as such, it will always have a look like one. This one is no exception, with the two-button collar and elasticated waist and cuffs, the latter a change from last year. But on the downside, we have lost the button pockets, which are replaced by slant pockets. Note also the flat back (no umbrella vent) and a checked lining. Love that leather (or leather-look) tag on the zip pull too.
Sizes are from XS through to 3XL and the price of each this budget Harrington jacket is just £39.90. Likely to sell through if previous years are anything to go by.
