It’s that kind of top. When the weather is a little cooler outside, it’s a great top to wear or layer up with. If it’s a little warmer, it’s an option for a jacket. Two for one if you like. Either way, it’s a good-looking layer.

It has the look of a vintage track jacket about it, which is certainly no bad thing. But done as knitwear rather than a heavier cotton twill.

The end result is a zip-through funnel neck cardigan in a choice of three colours, with each of the 100 per cent cotton tops made with a 7 gauge yarn. Each one also has a full zip front, as well as a contrasting striped collar, cuffs and hem. Enough detail to catch the eye but not too much to swamp it. And no logo – which always works for me.
