Update: A couple of the colour options have just dropped into the sale and are now just £14.99 in most sizes. Link to store page below.

Let’s be honest; there are plenty of options on this front, From the timeless Fred Perry tennis bomber to the more affordable Real Hoxton monkey jacket and much in between. You might recall the rather nifty Maison Kitsune Tricolour Fox Windbreaker too, which Paul Weller was wearing a couple of years back. Now sadly confined to history, I’m afraid.

And now there’s this, which is worth a look if finances are tight. Because it’s at H&M, which, like many high street stores, does occasionally come up trumps with something.

It’s a classic tipped bomber jacket but without the ‘whistles and bells’ of some out there. Lightweight and the kind of thing that comes into its own at this time of the year. You’ll not be too panicked if you accidentally leave it somewhere too (unlike the £200+ variants).

Take your pick from the three colours here, each in a woven fabric and with a ribbed collar, full zip front, diagonal front pockets with a press-stud, an inner pocket with a press-stud, and ribbing at the cuffs and hem. Some modest lining too.
