Drake’s waxed madras cotton tennis blouson jacket (image credit: Drake’s)
Been desperate for one of these for a while, but this Drake’s waxed madras cotton tennis blouson jacket is just out of my price range.
And that’s the really frustrating bit. I love everything about this jacket, which is perfect for a summer evening. But there’s only so much money to go around, and I don’t think I’ll be the most popular member of the family if I splash £500+ on it.
It’s a thing of beauty, though, described as a jacket that gives’ subtle nods to mid-century sporting attire as worn by Emerson, Laver, Ashe et al. in the 1960s’. Ivy casual has never looked better.
Italian-made and cut from waxed madras fabric, the jacket has a short, slightly boxy shape that reflects the era that inspired it. It also has an elasticated waist, adjustable button cuffs, a double zip closure, and twin front pockets.
All sizes are available, with the only downside being the £595 price tag.
