A bit of a cloth upgrade for the time of year, which should mean these Baracuta G4 wool Harrington jackets keep you toasty warm.
Well, as much as a jacket can. There’s a tipping point when we go from jacket to ‘big coat’. But in the autumn months and, to be honest, for quite a bit of winter, you can probably get away with a chunky, well-made jacket to keep you warm, especially if you are layering up a bit underneath.
Whatever you wear underneath, this should be a warmer option than your standard Harrington and a jacket that should get you noticed. That’s down to the construction, which is a choice of two finishes, a Prince of Wales grey and a Prince of Wales brown, both described as a soft Houndstooth wool, courtesy of Abraham Moon & Sons.
Note also the Thermore padding, which is partially made from recycled plastic bottles and is said to guarantee excellent thermal insulation. So even warmer.
Outside of that, it’s the G4 design you know and love. I actually prefer the G4 to the G9, but each to their own. So a two-button collar and adjustable cuffs, an umbrella back yoke, two-way logoed zip, raglan sleeves, two diagonal frontal pockets with flap and single button closure, double button adjustable waist strap, and an internal pocket in external cloth with personalised Baracuta button closure.
£470 means it comes in as a pricier option than a standard G4, but as I said, this is one to keep you warm and get you noticed.
