Officially known as a grip bag, but I’ll run with Puma 1970s archive holdalls for these vintage reissues.

Adidas seems loath to reproduce its old vintage bags (outside of the smaller Airliner Bag), but Puma is considering bringing back its old holdalls. There are some 1976-specific designs on the site, too, but I prefer these more generic archive bags.

There’s an episode of 1970s TV sitcom Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads where Bob goes on holiday with a bag not dissimilar to this – although to avoid advertising, someone has adjusted the logo so it says ‘Roma’. That’s not a bad reference point. An early 1970s sports bag or weekend bag, with some subtle updates.

The bag’s look hasn’t changed, with the possible addition of a shoulder strap. But the inside has been tweaked more, with the addition of a padded laptop sleeve.

A good-sized bag, it’s available in three colours, with the brown one really standing out for its 1970s authenticity. But take your pick yourself.

Not cheap at £75, but cheaper than buying vintage their days.
