There’s a navy blue one already out there, but this Fred Perry Tennis bomber jacket in black has just been added into the range.
In fact, there’s a white one at half price if you fit a size small. But for the rest of us, we are looking at the navy blue with traditional blue and red stripes or you can opt for this one, which is a slight variation on the theme.
Part of the Reissues range as you would expect, this is still very much the tennis bomber jacket you know and possibly love. It dates back to the 1950s and its tennis courts and outside of the colour changes each year, not a lot has changed. Why would you – this is a classic of its type.
But there is a change with this one that you will either appreciate or hate, depending on whether you like to stand out from the crowd. If you do, then you might lie the idea of the old red and white stripes being replaced by green and light blue detailing alongside the white. I know, it’s different. But as I said, it’s likely to stand out a little more than the traditional trim. Is it an archive colour combination? I’m not sure, but as it is in the Reissues range, it might be.
Beyond the stripes, you get the cotton twill construction, zip front, two side ‘ball’ pockets, ribbed hems and of course, the Fred Perry Laurel Wreath on the chest.
The same price as the usual ones, this version of the Fred Perry Tennis bomber jacket in black sells for £200 and is available in sizes small through to extra large.
