Roland-Garros Edition ballboy jacket by Lacoste (image credit: Lacoste)
If I’m honest, I would prefer it without the tennis badge, but this Roland-Garros Edition ballboy jacket by Lacoste is still appealing.
It’s what Lacoste does well and doesn’t do enough of: classic/heritage sportswear without any extra gimmicks. I have spotted a few things at Lacoste lately, but many seem to have a large graphic or some other addition that makes me think twice. The best thing to do is keep everything simple – but I’m probably out of step with the fashion crowd!
This one, too, has the Roland-Garros badge. But it’s there for a reason. This is a tennis ballboy jacket, and as such, it has the stadium branding as a small badge on the chest.
Outside of that, it’s a timeless jacket made from breathable double-face pique cotton, which makes it useful in warmer weather. The blue is a classic Lacoste shade, the logo equally so, and the striped ribbing on the collar tops it off nicely.
If you can live with the badge, this one sells for £135 and is a limited run in all sizes.
