One for the diary. The upcoming reissue of the much-loved Adidas Stockholm City Series trainers reissue, which is likely to sell through quickly.
The Stockholm design is pretty much peak Adidas and one of the most sought-after designs from the City Series. It’s good that this will be a wide reissue as demand will be high. But even allowing for that, I suspect the Stockholm will sell out very quickly.
Some City Series reissues don’t and have hung about long enough to go into the sales. But the sleek and slimline designs like this always sell out fast. I’ll pull together a list of sellers as we get nearer the launch date (and availability is confirmed).
But for now, the only place that is confirming this is Adidas itself. Although it isn’t doing any kind of pre-order or draw to secure a pair. You can set a reminder though.
As for the shoe, as I mentioned above, this is classic City Series and a shape that is universally loved and has been since this shoe first appeared way back in 1972. That’s right. This shoe is on the edge of its 50th birthday and still looking as cool as anything out there.
This shoe, just like the original, uses what’s described as a ‘buttery-soft suede’ for the upper in the Swedish colours of yellow and blue (of course). The yellow jumping out on the heel, stripes, and tongue against the blue background.
A gum sole, ridged tongue, and classic Adidas sole. That pretty much covers it. As ever, Adidas is at its best when it strips things down to the basics.
Want a pair? I’m sure you do. But you’ll have to wait. The official launch date and time with Adidas is 11pm on Friday 26th November 2021. So effectively a couple of months to wait. This is why a reminder might be in order.
But as I said, other retailers will be offering this too, likely be in the form of a raffle. I’ll update the article when the details of those are confirmed. Regardless of where you shop, the price will be consistent at £85. A bargain if you can get them at that price as the secondary market will see these offered at a much higher rate.
