Paul check wool overcoats by Baracuta (image credit: Baracuta)
Three colour options but only one design. But together, they are known as the Paul check wool overcoats by Baracuta.
That’s right. Baracuta has more strings to its bow than just the classic Harrington jacket. But many don’t get the attention they deserve. I suspect these overcoats fit that category.
They are lovely pieces with a couple of touches that are unmistakably Baracuta. But at their heart is a design that’s pretty much timeless. Not cheap, but this is the kind of coat you can see yourself pulling out year after year.
A classic with a fairly loose fit (think wearing it over for extra warmth), it is made of Abraham Moon English wool and available in three finishes. Two variations on a Prince of Wales check plus a different kind of check in grey. You can see them all here, with more imagery at the retailer’s site.
The coat also has a thick fabric lining that ‘goes hand in hand’ with the signature Fraser Tartan placed directly under the Baracuta label.
Two large slanted pockets at the front, too, with the iconic umbrella back yoke on the back, plus throat fastening to keep your neck warm when the temperatures really drop.
As I said, one that will see you through for years, but not cheap at £600.
