Back to the 1970s for a reissue of the 1979 Adidas Gazelle Indoor trainers, available in three different shades.
Yes, the Gazelle dates back as far as the 1960s, but the Gazelle Indoor was a later tweak. I don’t need to give you the back story really. It’s pretty self-explanatory by the name. Yes, this was a Gazelle for the inside. But they work just as well for the outside too.
They have been reissued at various times over the years, but this looks to be going back to the original shoe, was launched back in the late 1970s. 1979, to be precise.
I’m a big fan of these in a leather finish, but the reissues here go back to the suede. Specifically, a choice of a red, blue to black suede. You can’t go far wrong with any of those shades.
A back to basics design, with the soft suede and a durable leather lining coming together on a gum rubber outsole with the trademark translucent effect. The 3-Stripes and metallic-gold lettering, of course.
Downside? These really don’t come cheap. £120 for a pair in all colours, which are new arrivals at the Adidas Store.
