We're big fans of Rapha, but the cost of the high-end / classic cycling gear is often the issue. Not so at the Rapha sample sale in London.
It is what you expect, the usual mix of end of range, items that never made it to the shelves for some minor reason or other, you know the kind of thing. But all heavily discounted, if you are willing to dig around and find the right size.
It takes place on Friday 29th July and Saturday 30th July at The Loading Bay, Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London E1 6QL. You probably want to get down there early for the best items.
We love the high-end cycling gear produced by Rapha, but let's be honest, most of it doesn't come cheap. Unless of course, you happen to be at the Rapha sample sale in London.
The sale promises discounted end of line stock, seconds and samples, all of which is yours to browse at Shop 25, Hanbury St. London E1 6QL on Friday 28th January 10am – 6pm, Saturday 29th January 10am – 6pm and finally, Sunday 30th January 12pm – 5pm. But you probably want to get there on the Friday.
Check out the Rapha site for an idea of the current range.
Interesting item on the market from Le Coq Sportif in limited numbers - this Le Coq Sportif L'Eroica cycling jersey.
It's an item from a mini range that celebrates the L'Eroica cycling event which takes place in Tuscany annually, sit specific rules about the use of bicycle equipment with a vintage of 1987 or older. The 100 per cent cotton jersey has a zip collar, fitted shape (so size up) and flocked text and logo plus screened stripes.
A long name for a short jacket, specifically the 4TN by 14 Bike Co Old Montague waxed jacket.
Apparently taking inspiration from cycling clobber, the jacket is made using Millerain waxed cotton, with two 'popper fastening' chest and lower pockets with top and side entry, a single velcro fastening back pocket, adjustable popper fastening cuff with inner corduroy trim and a straight finished hem to the front, with a longer curved hem to the back.
