This one has come out of nowhere and as such, I've not had chance to get my hands on a copy yet. But on the face of it, the Preppy: Cultivating Ivy Style book by Jeffrey Banks and Doria De la Chapelle is well worth checking out for fans of the look.

Now this is quite interesting. Remember the Take Ivy book by Teruyoshi Hayashida, which was reissued last year? Well, there's a sequel, going by the name of the Take 8 Ivy book by Teruyoshi Hayashida and Shiro Itoh.
The original book was a unique collection of photos of ivy league students in 1965. This follow-up is apparently a collection of images and text from the eight ivy league institutions of the USA during the period 1965 - 1985. if you're into your ivy league styling, it's one to pick up.
Finding one is the hard bit, as it's described as both limited and hard to find. Thankfully Superdenim has copies, but you'll need to pay out £40 to get one of these imported books. Note also that the text is a mix of English and Japanese.

An interesting book is now on pre-order, going by the name of The Perfectly Dressed Gentleman by Robert O'Byrne and Lord Dunsby and available via CICO Books.
The book itself is much as it sounds, described as an 'indispensable guide through the modern sartorial maze', with practical advice on what to wear on every occasion, from workplace to wedding or from home to holiday. There's even advice on how to post a good suit, how to tie a tie (or bow tie) and ideas on accessories.
All of that is backed up with some stylish, retro-styled illustrations from Lord Dunsby (formerly known as His Knibs, which gives us a bit of symmetry), to show off the styles and the looks being talked about. If you want a copy, it's printed in hardback from 13th October, with pre-sales being taken now for £8.99.

I'll be honest, I've yet to see a copy of How to be a Man: A Guide to Style and Behaviour for the Modern Gent by Glenn O'Brien (that's a hint Hardie Grant Books) - but it looks like it might be worth a browse in your local Waterstones when it lands on 1st August.
Yes, it's another 'style' book, this time by the current editor of the (US) GQ Style blog. According to the pre-publication blurb, it has over forty chapters on style and fashion (and the difference), on 'dandies and dudes', 'grooming and decorating', on 'how to dress age-appropriately' and how to 'age gracefully'. Looks like all bases covered.
304 pages in total and if you want to take a punt blindly, Amazon is doing pre-orders for £14.44.
