Alexander McQueen goes 1960s dandy with its double-breasted wool-blend suit

We don't feature as much formal as we should (or perhaps would like) and we tend to stay well clear of high-priced high fashion. But we really could't resist pointing out this Alexander McQueen double-breasted wool-blend suit.

This is pure '60s dandy, swinging London and beyond, as well as being a rare example of a high-fastening double-breasted suit off the peg. As the title says, it's made of a wool blend with wide chalk stripes, throwing in two flap pockets, double vents, cuff buttons and engrave buttons.

Made in Italy, this is certainly not cheap, with the jacket at £1,295 and the trousers selling for £540. Take our tip. Go to a tailor and use this to inspire one of your own, made in your own choice of cloth. If you shop around, it will come in cheaper and be bespoke to you. Then again, if you have the cash to spend and like the convenience, you know where to go. More images on the website.
