a caricature of the gallaghers (oasis) i did for a poster/flyer for the ramshackle indie nights in brum and bristol, just one of an ongoing series.
yes, er, well, a bit sinister this one .... what was i thinking? .... it was an idea i had for a skate deck for flip, but wasn't right for em (wonder why? haha) ...... anyway, i think the idea came from the ice cream man with the bloody nose on the TV series "league of gentlemen"

which is probably my favorite TV show ever, mixed with the style of a 50's US burger/hotdog concession (nathan's)
i quite like it, but pretty unsure who/what i'd ever use it for .......

a return to an old pen sketch i did some years ago, vectored up in illustrator ..... and given a new lease of life. i've always liked these images and don't think i did em justice first time around.

just lately i've literally been dipping back into the way i used to work in my pre mac days, ie dip pens knibs and acrylic ink ..... really enjoying the experience of rediscovering the quality of line you get with the mutitude of steel nibs both vintage and new that are still easily available ...... if you're at all keen on illustration/illustrating it's worth giving a go ........ the pow wow poster below was created using dip pens scans and photoshop.
favorite nib at the moment, has to be "the scribbler" made by C BRANDAUER and Co of brimingham, bought in an art suppliers last week for 90p even though the company hasn't made steel nibs for over 30 years.
